About Us

The Medical Library now known as E. Latunde Odeku Medical Library (ELOML) is the oldest and the largest hospital –based medical library in the country and has been providing library services to the medical community in Ibadan and environs since its establishment in 1966.
ELOML was in 1989 designated the National Focal Point (NFP) for Nigeria  and the National Medical Library of Nigeria (NMLN) by the World Health Organization (WHO) under the auspices of the federal ministry of Health (FMOH)  
ELOML collects, organizes and disseminates medical and health –related literature to respond to the information needs of faculty members of the college of Medicine Medical students, medical and paramedical staff of the University College Hospital (UCH), Staff and students of UCH schools as well as individuals from other institutions across the country.

ELOML has computer network and also provides access to free electronic resources with professional medical librarians available for assistance during regular library hours. ELOML has two reading rooms.

Do you want to support the Library by:

  • Helping to subscribe or donate medical books and journala;
  • Helping to subscribe to online bibliographic Databases: Ovid full-text, Science Direct, EBSCO and Online Catalogs.

The library will appreciate donation of books, journals and online bibliographic databases from individuals, Non profit organisations, Institutions and governmental Agencies across the globe.
